Deanna has been practicing ceramics on and off for nearly 20 years. She studied painting at Hofstra University in the early aughts and fell in love with pottery during her senior year. After graduating in 2006, she had the honor of working at the Worcester Center for Crafts and further exploring her passion for clay in classes with Birdie Boone.
In 2020, Deanna took the plunge to become a full-time potter and enrolled in classes at The Clay School in Lynn, MA while building her brand, Brick Piggy Pottery. In 2025, she reconnected with Birdie Boone as a member of her Cohorts.Art year-long artistic mentorship program.
Deanna’s background in painting allows her to incorporate stylish motifs into each piece while exploring the world of form and function associated with pottery. She finds inspiration in the world around her but is especially inspired by nature. Her forms are soft and often curvaceous, feminine, and colorful. When not making pots, Deanna resides in Andover, MA and enjoys reading a good book with a cup of coffee, snuggling with her dog and two cats, and watching a good movie with her husband and daughter.
